Program Travel Awards
The
Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology
(FASEB) and the Minority Access to Research Careers (MARC)
Program has a limited number of travel awards available to help
defray registration costs for attendance at the FASEB Summer
Research Conferences. Awards cover travel and registration fees
for eligible underrepresented minority faculty scientists, post
doctorates and advanced graduate students in the biomedical and
behavioral sciences. This program is funded through a generous
grant from the National Institutes of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS)
Qualified ethnic minority groups that are identified as being
underrepresented in the biomedical and behavioral sciences
include: African Americans, Alaskan Natives, Hispanic Americans,
American Indians/Native Americans and Natives of the U.S.
Pacific Islands (Guam or Hawaii.) Qualified underrepresented
minority groups must be citizens or non-citizen nationals of the
United States of America or must have been lawfully admitted to
the United States of America for permanent residence and have in
possession a permanent visa (green card) at the time of
application submittal. Individuals on temporary or student visas
are not eligible for FASEB MARC Program funding.
Eligibility and Requirements:
MARC/SRC
Travel Award applicants must be full-time underrepresented
minority faculty, research scientists, post-doctoral fellows or
advanced graduate students who reside within the USA or USA
territories.
MARC/SRC
Travel Award applicants must be USA Citizens or Permanent
Residents of the USA (green card holders). (Federal guidelines
restrict the FASEB MARC Program funding for USA Citizens or
Permanent Resident of the USA only.)
MARC/SRC
Travel Award applicants must submit an online SRC application
form located on the FASEB Summer Research Conference web site
before applying for a MARC/SRC travel award.
After
you have received notification of your acceptance to participate
in the SRC, you are advised to complete and submit a MARC/SRC
Travel Award application to the FASEB MARC Program Office.

Notification of MARC/SRC Travel Award approval will be made in
writing by the FASEB MARC Program Office.
NOTE: The MARC Program is prohibited from providing funds
to employees and trainees at federal facilities who receive
federal support for their salary/wages. For more information

Deadline
Information:
All applications for FASEB MARC/SRC Travel Awards must be
received at least six weeks prior to
the start date of the selected conference.
Late and/or incomplete applications will not be processed.
