Supporting
the Summer Research Conferences
FASEB is a non-profit, tax-exempt federation of 22 societies.
Each summer, a series of research conferences are sponsored by
FASEB which allow experimental biologists to meet intimately and
explore new approaches to current research areas. Emphasis is on
cutting-edge science. The conferences are supported by
conference fees, industry educational grants, foundation
support, and government grants.
Conference participants include scientists from the United
States and abroad and most are dependent upon financial support
in order to participate. Current structures in federal funding
greatly limit what has been a major source of support for such
activities. Contributions from industry and private foundations
help the organizers subsidize speaker expenses, particularly for
those speakers from academia and other non-profit organizations.
FASEB would also like to be able to support the attendance of
young investigators. These promising individuals represent the
future of science. While corporate support, private foundations
and government grants provide some financial assistance for
conference speakers, many more participants attend the meetings
than these contributions can fund.

How do I contribute?
The easiest
way to donate funds is to send a check to:
FASEB Summer Research Conferences
9650 Rockville Pike
Bethesda, MD 20814-3998
A cover letter should accompany the contribution stating what
conference the support is for and any special conditions for the
administration of the contribution. If the contribution may be
used at the discretion of the Chair it must be specifically
stated.
