Steamboat Springs is located in the Rocky Mountains in northwest Colorado, surrounded by forest and wilderness areas. The Steamboat Grand Resort is situated at the base of the ski area at a comfortable elevation of 6,900 feet above sea level.

The Yampa River flows through downtown Steamboat Springs and eventually meets the Green River in Dinosaur National Monument. Three Colorado state parks, hot springs, lakes, rivers, and trail systems cater to a plethora of outdoor activities. Summer activities in the area include hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, fishing, camping, and canoeing. The resort offers an afternoon shuttle to downtown Steamboat Springs to explore its art galleries, western outfitters, outdoor retailers, and gift shops.

Throughout the summer, the average high temperature in Colorado is 70-80°F (21-26°C) with a low of 50°F (10°C). Casual clothing is encouraged.

Note: visitors to Steamboat Springs may need some extra time to acclimate to the higher altitude. Be sure to drink plenty of water, use sunscreen, and start off with lighter activities, then gradually build up to more strenuous activities.

Transportation Information

Air Travel

The Steamboat Grand Resort is 22 miles from the Steamboat-Yampa Valley Regional/Hayden Airport (HDN) and 155 miles northwest of Denver International Airport (DEN).

Note: Hayden Airport is a regional airport. It offers only two flights per day during the summer months.

Shuttle Service

GO Alpine of Steamboat Springs is providing discounted shuttle service from and to Denver International Airport and the Yampa Valley Regional/Hayden airports. To make a reservation, enter FASEB in the Group ID/Discount box at the top left of the screen to access the discounted rates.

Note: when booking your shuttle pickup from the airport, GO Alpine requests that you schedule a minimum of 45 minutes (domestic flights)/one hour (international flights) between your landing time and your shuttle departure time. For return service, allow 90 minutes for check-in and security at the airport.

From Denver International Airport
GO Alpine has three daily scheduled, shared-ride shuttles between the Denver International Airport (DIA) and the Steamboat Grand. Reservations are required and payment is due at the time of the booking. The shuttle rides are approximately four hours with a 15-minute rest stop in Silverthorne. Shuttles depart DIA at 12:00 pm, 4:00 pm and 9:00 pm. The return shuttles to DIA depart Steamboat at 6:00 am, 10:00 am, and 3:00 pm. A round trip ticket is approximately $171 USD. Discounts are available for seniors (65+) and children.

From Steamboat-Yampa Valley Regional/Hayden Airport
GO Alpine can meet your flight at the Steamboat-Yampa Valley Regional/Hayden Airport (HDN). Reservations are required and payment is due at the time of booking. The shuttle rides are approximately 30 minutes and a round-trip ticket is approximately $55.95 USD. Discounts are available for seniors (65+) and children.

Check in at the GO Alpine counter located in the baggage claim area of the terminal, prior to retrieving your luggage.

Rental Cars/Driving Distance

It is a scenic, three-hour drive through the majestic Rocky Mountains from Denver Airport, or a quick 30-minute drive from Hayden. There are many car rental companies available at the above airports. Please visit their websites for available companies.

Parking

Self-parking is available in the Ski Time Square lot across the street from the main doors of the Steamboat Grand Resort for $5 per night.
Self-parking at the resort’s underground facility is $12 per night. Valet parking is available at $17 per night.

Although FASEB does not directly provide child care services, attendees are welcome to have guests (including spouses, children, nannies, and babysitters) accompany them to the conference. Guest registration is available to accommodate those with child and family care needs and the venue can provide additional assistance and resources.
