Conference Summary

This FASEB Science Research Conference (SRC) has been held every two years since 1995 and remains one of the best-attended and highly regarded focused meetings in the basic biology and therapeutic targeting of these tumors.

This conference brings together biochemists, geneticists, molecular biologists, and clinicians interested in the pathophysiology of leukemias and lymphomas, and the development of novel therapies for these diseases.

The main themes of this conference are the molecular pathogenesis of hematologic malignancies and molecularly targeted cancer therapy.

Conference sessions will present the latest research findings and foster engaging discussion on:

  • Hematopoietic stem cell differentiation
  • Identification and study of novel oncogenes and tumor suppressors
  • Mechanisms of action of products of chromosomal translocations
  • Normal and pathologic signaling in hematopoietic cells
  • Aberrant epigenetic/transcriptional control
  • Genomics of hematological malignancies
  • The role of tumor microenvironment
  • The development of new experimental models of hematologic malignancies
  • New targeted approaches and drug resistance mechanisms

In addition to our keynote speakers, Tim Ley, MD (Washington University School of Medicine) and Klaus Rajewsky, MD (Max Delbrück Center for Molecular Medicine), this conference will feature nine oral sessions with 37 speakers, four poster sessions, as well as career development and “Meet the Expert” sessions.
