Conference Summary

This long-running FASEB Science Research Conference (SRC) began in 1987 and has continued to foster a highly interactive community of researchers focused on solving important problems in immunoreceptor and immunotherapy biology.

This SRC brings together international scientists from academia, government, and industry to discuss cutting-edge developments in the areas of immunoreceptors and immunotherapy.

Organizers

Stephen Beers, PhD
Professor of Immunology and Immunotherapy, Centre for Cancer Immunology, Faculty of Medicine, University of Southampton, UK

Stephen Beers, PhD, Professor of Immunology and Immunotherapy, Centre for Cancer Immunology, Faculty of Medicine, University of Southampton, UK

Dr. Beers is an immunologist interested in understanding how antibody drugs work and applying this knowledge to generate new drugs and strategies to improve outcomes for cancer patients. The primary focus of his lab is how the tumor microenvironment affects antibody function and whether it can be manipulated to enhance efficacy.

Diane Lidke, PhD
Professor, Pathology Department, University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, USA

Dr. Lidke's research integrates the disciplines of biophysics, bio-imaging, and quantitative biology to gain new and fundamental understandings of the components and dynamics of cell signaling pathways. This involves the measurement of protein behavior in living cells to capture and quantify biochemical events that initiate signaling. The Lidke lab focuses on the study of the IgE Receptor of mast cells and the EGFR/erbB family of receptor tyrosine kinases, and how these are altered in diseased cells or influenced by therapeutics.
