Conference Summary

Launched in 1990 by Dr. Edmond Fischer, who shared the 1992 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for protein phosphorylation shortly thereafter, this FASEB Science Research Conference (SRC) is the only forum in North America entirely dedicated to exploring the biology of this class of enzymes and their roles in human diseases.

The conference targets established scientists in the phosphatase field, established scientists from other fields, and trainees and new investigators who are interested in learning more about phosphatases. The range of expertise varies widely from basic science to translational and clinical studies. In addition to academic scientists, due to the recent emergence of several phosphatases as druggable targets,  significant participation of scientists from industry is expected and desired.
