Oak Island Resort & Conference Centre is an oceanfront property with guestrooms, oceanfront chalets and seaside villas situated in the community of Western Shore in Nova Scotia’s beautiful South Shore region. Enjoy the peaceful atmosphere with stunning surroundings and breathtaking views of picturesque Mahone Bay and the legendary Oak Island.

The Resort provides a variety of luxuries and activities including outdoor and indoor swimming pools, tennis courts, and a fitness facility and its Marina is the departure point for many on-site activities and tours.  

Explore the South Shore’s scenic coastal vista, as well as the captivating and vibrant communities along the way. Visit Lunenburg – a UNESCO World Heritage Site – explore the historic waterfront, take a walking tour of the town and visit the Fisheries Museum of the Atlantic. Other nearby experiences include Ross Farm, Nova Scotia’s Living Museum of Agriculture; the charming town of Mahone Bay; Oak Island, and the scenic fishing village of Peggy’s Cove. The South Shore area also boasts jogging and cross-country ski trails, boat cruises, sailing, golfing, and sandy beaches.

The average summer temperature in Nova Scotia, Canada is 70°–80°F (20°-25°C).

Note: Pets are not permitted at the resort and conference centre.


Transportation Information

Air Travel

The Halifax Stanfield International Airport (YHZ) is approximately 88.6 kms (1 hour and 10 minutes) from the Oak Island Resort & Conference Centre. 

Airport Shuttle Service

We have contracted with Coach Atlantic Transportation from Halifax Stanfield International Airport to Oak Island Resort & Conference Centre. The shuttle will depart from the airport on Sunday at 3:30 p.m. Atlantic Time.  If interested, please purchase a ticket when you register. Plan to arrive the airport in time to pick up your luggage and meet the shuttle bus for departure at 3:30 p.m. sharp.

Offsite Accommodations

Hotel accommodations are included with the conference registration. However, if you registered as “Registration w/o Lodging,” there are no hotels near the Oak Island Resort & Conference Centre, but you may find an Airbnb nearby.
