Federal Awards

FASEB encourages the participation of women, underrepresented minorities, and junior trainees at each Science Research Conference (SRC). Over 90 percent of SRCs apply to and receive federal conference grants that support junior and underrepresented scientists’ attendance to SRCs. Many SRCs also receive private and non-profit funding for travel and poster awards.

The availability of financial support and awards varies by conference and is contingent upon funding. In addition, most SRCs provide Travel, Poster, or Short-Talk Awards. The awards are generally based on the quality of submitted abstracts, poster presentations, or oral presentations and typically range from $250-$1,000.

Attendees will automatically be considered for financial support when they register and are encouraged to select "I wish to be considered for a conference Award/Grant" when registering. There is no application form for awards provided at the conference. Travel Grants Program

Each quarter, offers travel grants up to $500 to help cover the cost of attending conferences.

These travel grants are open to PhD candidates, lab managers, and post-docs from academic research institutions across the US.

The grant is intended to help cover the costs of registration, accommodation, and travel to conferences of choice.
